How to Get a Library Card

Emporia Public Library cards are free to all Kansas residents with proof of current residency (see Circulation Policy for details). Patrons age 17 and under need the signature of a parent or caregiver to obtain a card. Parents/caregivers are responsible for the materials checked out on their child's card and the information accessed on library computers.

Always bring your library card when coming to the library; keychain cards are available so you will always have your card handy! With your card, you can check out books, DVDs, audiobooks, kits, and more for free. A EPL card also grants you access to the online materials through Sunflower eLibrary and Libby.
