Library SMS Terms of Service 

The Library offers optional text messaging services to provide convenient notifications related to library accounts, programs, and services.

By opting in to receive SMS messages from the Library, you agree to the following terms. 

​

Types of Messages 

Text messages may include: 

Holds available for pickup 

Due date reminders 

Overdue notices 

Account notifications 

Program or event reminders 

Library service announcements

Message frequency may vary depending on your library activity and program registrations.

Message and Data Rates 

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan. The Library is not responsible for any charges incurred from your mobile carrier.

Opting In 

You may opt in to receive text messages by: 

Providing a mobile phone number when registering for a library card 

Updating your communication preferences in your library account 

Signing up for event reminders or notifications through library forms or services 

By opting in, you consent to receive automated and/or manual text messages from the Library.

Opting Out 

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time. 

To stop receiving messages: 

Reply STOP to any text message from the Library. 

After you send the STOP message, you may receive a confirmation text that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the Library unless you opt in again.

Assistance 

If you need assistance with SMS notifications: 

Reply HELP to any message, or 

Contact the Library directly.

Privacy 

Your privacy is important to the Library. Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS notifications will only be used for library communications and will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. 

Information may be shared with service providers that assist the Library in delivering messaging services (such as library software or messaging platforms), solely for the purpose of delivering those services.

Service Availability 

The Library does not guarantee that text messaging services will always be available or delivered without interruption.

Changes to These Terms 

The Library may update these Terms of Service periodically. Updates will be posted on the Library’s website.
