Emporia Public Library Card Design Contest Rules

Show off your creativity by designing an Emporia Public Library card! Winning artwork will be featured on a special limited-edition series of library cards debuting in January 2027.

Eligibility

The contest is open to Lyon County residents and Emporia Public Library cardholders.

Age Categories

• Kids: Ages 0–11

• Teens: Ages 12–17

• Adults: Ages 18+

How to Enter

Submit one original design during the month of September.

Entries may be:

• Dropped off at the Emporia Public Library or

• Emailed to marketing@emporialibrary.org (digital artists can download the template here)

Be sure to include:

• Name

• Age

• Hometown

• Phone number

• Email address (if available)

Design Guidelines

• Create your own original artwork—we want to see your creativity!

• Celebrate libraries, reading, learning, imagination, and/or the Emporia Public Library.

• All designs must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

• Do not use copyrighted characters, logos, or trademarks. (Need the EPL logo? Download it here!)

• Do not include your name, signature, initials, or other identifying marks on your design.

• Use the official library card template provided by the library.

• Entries cannot have been published previously or entered in another contest.

Judging

The Emporia Public Library Board of Trustees will select one winning design in each age category. All judging decisions are final. Winners will be announced on October 15.

Winning designs will appear on a special limited-edition series of Emporia Public Library cards beginning in January 2027.

Terms and Conditions

• One entry per person.

• By entering, you give Emporia Public Library permission to reproduce, display, and adapt your artwork for library cards and promotional materials. Minor adjustments may be made for printing.

• Submitted artwork will not be returned.

• The library reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not follow these rules or contain inappropriate content.
